Director Ellis Nicholls receives the
award from NODA's Roy Brown Grayshott Stagers were presented with the Regional Representative's Award of Excellence for Best Drama for their production of 'A Laughing Matter' performed in November 2013.

This is the personal choice of Roy Brown, Regional Representative of District 15 covering East Hampshire, West Sussex & South Sussex. There are 19 Districts in the South East District representing some 300 amateur dramatic and musical societies.

The award was presented at the NODA South-East Region AGM and Award Ceremony on Sunday afternoon (29th June 2014) held at The Royal Hippodrome Theatre, Eastbourne.

Their vision is that amateur theatre is successful and sustainable, providing a range of opportunities for people to develop their skills and enjoy taking part, at all levels; to support the education and information needs of individuals and organisations with high quality services and products that contribute to the success of amateur theatre, as well as encouraging appreciation of the sector by participants and audiences alike.

• Help amateur societies and individuals achieve the highest standards of best practice and performance
• Provide leadership and advice to enable the amateur theatre sector to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

Each of NODA's 11 Regions is headed by a Councillor who sits on the ruling body of the Association (The National Council). In turn they are supported by a network of Regional Representatives and committee members who provide a vital link to the grass roots of the association. NODA is administered from headquarters in Peterborough by a knowledgeable and friendly staff.
