'Calendar Girls' by Tim Firth is coming to town November 2012!

At their 60th birthday celebrations held at the Georgian Hotel on 9th July 2011, Chairman, John Hilder, announced that the Grayshott Stagers will present an exciting production of 'Calendar Girls' in November 2012.

The play will be directed by Brezetta Thonger, assisted by Bjorg Arnadottir.

Brezetta and Bjorg met during the Haslemere Thespians' production of 'Blythe Spirit' which Bjorg directed and in which Brezetta played Elvira, and they have remained firm friends ever since.

Brezetta has been with the Stagers for some time now and has enjoyed many varied acting roles and has directed various productions including 'Improbable Fiction' by Alan Ayckbourn and a number of One Act plays.

Bjorg has enjoyed extensive theatrical training and apart from acting has also directed various shows with Opera Omnibus, now Opera South. The Grayshott Stagers are very pleased to have her on board for this production.

Based on the true story of eleven WI members who posed naked for a calendar to raise money for the Leukaemia research fund 'Calendar Girls' first opened at the Chichester Festival Theatre and has since become the fastest selling play in theatre history.

The Stagers are very excited to stage this play which is dazzlingly funny, shamelessly sentimental and utterly captivating!

Raucous fun, so definitely something to put in your diary as your support will also greatly benefit the Leukaemia Charity.
