Keep The Home Fires Burning

To complement the upcoming production of Oh What a Lovely War (at Grayshott Village Hall from 15-17th November) several local organisations have been creating inspiring and emotional exhibits inspired by the First World War, which will be on display during show week.

The displays will include contributions from:
Grayshott Heritage - An exhibition about life in Grayshott during the WW1
Ludshott Photographic Club - An exhibition about the preparation and production of the show.
Grayshott Pottery - An exhibition as to how they designed and made the commemorative poppies for the war memorial.
People who live at the Huntington and Langham Estate have been recording some of their favourite poetry from WW1.
Moorlands Lodge and Grayshott School will be contributing art work and creative writing. Also, Year 6 from Grayshott Primary school are re-creating the Christmas Truce as part of the show.

Pins and Needles have produced a beautiful quilt which will be raffled at the Saturday night performance and Friday Art are designing and painting a background for the stage set. Grayshott Jazz club will be entertaining the audience with songs from the period during the interval.

We hope that as many people as possible will be able to see the care and creativity that has gone into all of them, so we will open an hour before the curtain goes up each night to let people take a tour of the exhibition. The bar will also be open so you can join us from 6.30 each night, or from 1.30 on the Saturday afternoon, get a drink and see how Grayshott is remembering and honouring those who gave so much for us. This is something you won't want to miss.

If you have any pictures, artefacts or anecdotes that you would like to contribute to the exhibition, please do not hesitate to contact us.

So get your tickets now, a great evening's entertainment awaits!
